What's good for the goose isn't good for the tortoise and the hare winning the race ... wait, what's that saying? Anyway, what I love, you may not care an ounce for. What you love, I may say "meh" to. The feelings and experiences that make us smile, that make us feel warm inside, that make us feel all of the good things ... the lists are different for everyone, yet the same for all. They all make us feel good, usually in very simple and powerful ways that resonate with your soul.
  • The perfect Chipotle bowl. Multiple times per week ;-)
  • Kindness, for no reason other than being kind and happy.
  • Waking up in the mornings.
  • The proper use of grammar and punctuation.
  • A strong vocabulary and appreciation of communication.
  • A warm sunny afternoon.
  • The bass lines in songs that tell their own story. Crush. C'mon Girl. Manhattan.
  • The feeling of walking in my Atheist shoes - they are seriously the most comfortable shoes I've ever had on my feet.
  • Seeing a healthy and growing bank account.
  • Writing. The feel and sound of pen gliding across paper. The feel of keys under my fingers, the sound of an Apple keyboard.
  • Doodling, drawing things out.
  • Flying. Dog I love flying. Even as a passenger in coach on a commercial flight. It's such a meditational experience to be at that altitude, going that speed, with a couple of hours all to yourself to think, write, listen to music and nap. And then as an added bonus, you land in a completely different city, within a few short hours! And then as another added bonus, you receive miles that add up to free tickets, to take more trips! And as ANOTHER BONUS, there is always quite a bit of walking when traveling! It's magical.
  • The sunset in the fall in Texas - the sky is painted with the softest, most beautiful shades of pink, blue, orange and purple.
  • The feeling of a warm blanket with the windows open in the middle of winter.
  • The smell of my dogs.
  • Hugs.In business, it's customary within my professional environment to hug after the first meet. Hugs are indicative of "we're in this together, I've got your back." And long meaningful hugs from loved ones.
  • Concerts and experiencing the natural high that only music from your favorite bands can produce.
  • Camping at The Gorge for LaborDave Weekend.
  • Genuine kindness from strangers.
  • Songs that move you to move your body to the music. For me, the first one that pops to mind is Two Step.
  • Genuine kindness from loved ones.Presence. An open heart.
  • Seeing a gentleman open a door for someone.
  • Pleasant and proper manners. And an appreciation for etiquette.
  • Being invited to someone's home for dinner.
  • Sharing meals with others.
  • The smell of freshly cut grass.
  • The smell of leather.
  • The smell of sweaty horses.
  • Making things by hand.
  • Cooking with fresh and wholesome ingredients.
  • Making another person smile and laugh until they cry.
  • Cuddling, gentle touch on my skin.
  • Being loved by a dog.
  • Traveling, planning trips, arriving in a new place, taking public transportation in new places.
  • London. I fucking love London.
  • London markets.
  • British accents.
  • Neatly trimmed nails.
  • Healthy personal grooming.
  • The smell of nice cologne and perfume.
  • Smiles.
  • Feeling happy and grateful.
  • A clean and tidy home and vehicle space that smells lovely and is just so welcoming and inviting!
  • Clean sheet day.
  • Seeing dogs run.
  • Riding 4-wheelers.
  • Riding horses.
  • Driving.
  • Compliments from loved ones.
  • Supporting small businesses, buying things directly from the maker.
  • Kickstarter projects.
  • Learning about spirituality and the vast Universe and all it has to offer us.
  • Architecture.
  • Being greeted with a warm smile, from a stranger or loved one.
  • Listening to others, learning about their story.
  • The crunch of sea salt.
  • Delicious lemon basil water.
  • Delicious European coffee.
  • Meeting new people.
  • Watches.
  • Accessories.
  • The feel of a well made pair of shoes.

These are the things that I experience joy with, from, through, amongst, in the presence of. It's a short list, and there will be more. Writing and reading it brings all the good feels, even as I write from my day job office at 10:30 on a Friday night as I wait for more deals to audit.

Cheers
