About The Organic Catalyst

I'm Beth Derrick. I'm a kid at heart, with an old soul, and the lifestyle of a middle aged corporate citizen by day, hippie by weekend. A conglomerate of contradictory and straightforward enigmas. A life of simplicity and goodness, with unorthodox ways that blend together millennial living with old world practices. I believe life should be happy, natural, organic and good. Easy is not always better, and better is not always easy.

I've always been "different" from my family, my peers, my parents, yet absolutely am a blend of Steve and Gail.

The term The Organic Catalyst occurred to me while sitting at Car Spa a few months ago while Duke (my beloved SUV) was getting a good scrub. It was a Saturday afternoon, Kira was at work, and her BFF was in town for the weekend and I was to meet her for the first time that evening. With some time to occupy myself on that busy beautiful afternoon, I had a notebook and pen with me as always, and without thinking, wrote the words The Organic Catalyst across the page. Catalyst is the term John Kim dubs the Life Coaches that go through his 12 week Catalyst Course and it's just what the definition describes: a person or thing that precipitates an event. Organic is the manner in which I choose to live my life, and the basis I want to help others incorporate into theirs.

In January 2016, I took the plunge, invested in myself and embarked on the journey of becoming a Life Coach. I have a level 1 certification, but that's only the tip of the iceburg. There's so much more to learn, experience, do, create and observe. Life is simple, yet we make it so complicated and complex. I want to help others navigate the waters of life, figure out the waves and how to manage the ebbs and flows of emotions, love, challenges, money, clutter, traveling, and our deep connection with food and the neverending pile of "stuff."

I find many cultures and practices fascinating, from the power of prayer and meditation, to burning incense and having fresh flowers in your home. Every single thing on earth has its own energy, and that energy has a direct connection, or disconnection, with our bodies, hearts, minds and soul. What's good for one person might be horrific for another, but there's a firm basis of need and health for everyone. Air, water, shelter, clothing, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, hobbies, growth, food, connection and love.

Join me for a part of your journey and let's grow together.
